Словенія прокладає шлях до міжнародного визнання мови людей зі сліпоглухотою

Slovenia has been committed to advancing the field of deafblindness for two decades. In 2021, it became the first country in the world to enshrine the language of people with deafblindness in its Constitution, and in 2025 it adopted the Act on the Use of Language of People with Deafblindness. The Ljubljana Memorandum 2026 has now attracted global attention, marking a new era in the understanding of deafblindness. The message is clear: every human being has the right to be heard, seen, understood and accepted.

May Santa bring everyone happiness!

Slovenia is known for its solidarity, and the festive season of Christmas and New Year, in particular, is a time of year when gift-giving is at the forefront of our minds. Charity campaigns such as Santa for a Day, the Three Winter Godfathers, Humanitarček, Botrstvo, school and municipal charity campaigns, and the like remind us that the essence of the festive season is inner joy and happiness and not just expensive gifts in shiny paper.

Noble values are stronger than everything that divides us

The sacrifice and sacrifices made by volunteers in the recent rescue of an injured caverwoman near Cerknica reveal the high hearted culture of the people, who showed an extraordinary sensitivity to the needs of fellow human beings and a willingness to support people in need. On 17 April, after 30 hours of efforts, rescuers successfully rescued a 33-year-old female caver from the Rakek Caving Society from a cave near Cerknica. The rescue was led by Sandi Curk, Head of the Regional Civil Protection Headquarters for Notranjska, with whom we spoke a day later.
