In the spirit of supporting young basketball players, the Government Communications Office of the Republic of Slovenia (UKOM), together with the municipalities of Novo mesto and Celje and the support of the Basketball Federation of Slovenia, will organise two basketball tournaments in both cities on Thursday, 6 April, during the "I FEEL SLOVENIA night" event in Dallas. UKOM is working with the Dallas Mavericks basketball club, where Luka Dončić plays, on a promotional campaign to strengthen the I feel Slovenia brand. On Friday 7 April 2023, Slovenia will be represented at the "I FEEL SLOVENIA night" basketball game in Dallas, featuring Luka Dončić, one of the world's most recognisable athletes. The Slovenian acrobatic group Dunking Devils will also perform during the game.
On 1 March 2023, the Government Communication Office organised a round table at the Media Centre in Planica, where guests spoke about the »I feel Slovenia« national brand.
The Nordic World Ski Championships in Planica, where the competition kicked off on 22 February, also hosted the Sporto conference. The main sports guest was Tina Maze, a former Slovenian ski champion.
The best Slovenian skier of all times and a sportswoman was among those pushing the boundaries. And simply just Tina, who was never an unreachable celebrity, but has always respected her fans. In her career, she has won in all five skiing disciplines: slalom, giant slalom, super giant slalom, downhill and the alpine combined. She has won all three classes of Olympic medals and was selected the Best Slovenian Sportswoman of the Year six times. Tina was breaking records in the 2012/2013 season. She retired in 2017.
In cooperation with the Polish Embassy in Ottawa, Canada, the Slovenian Embassy organised a social sports event, while the Slovenian Embassy in Tehran, Iran, held a diplomatic volleyball tournament.
