Together with food, housing and mobility, the textile industry is among the largest polluters in Europe. In Slovenia, around 10,000 tonnes of textile waste was generated in 2021. Slovenia recycled almost 2/3 of processed textile waste.

The European Week for Waste Reduction is the largest and most prestigious environmental protection project in the EU in raising awareness of waste reduction.
